Recently my wife and I watched Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and while the ending is a bit abrupt (just like the Disneyland ride), the artistry is as amazing now as it was in 1937. In this article we go beyond the animation to the unsung heroes of the film, the army of women who inked and painted every cel. As someone who works at the studio today, I can tell you that in some ways, not much has changed – and that’s hopefully for the best.
